Nadogradnja UEFI firmwarea na Linuxu

Uskoro će biti moguća nadogradnja BIOS-a i na Linuxu. Posljednje četiri godine Dell, Red Hat, Intel i Canonical rade na servisu nazvanom "Linux Vendor Firmware Service" (LVFS) kojim će biti moguće nadograditi UEFI firmware po principu posotjećeg Driver Managera kao na većini distri. Red Hat uspostavlja server za proizvođače hardvera na kojem će biti postavljen firmware za linux.
LVFS obuhvaća:
LVFS je već dostupan za Fedoru 23, Debian Unstable i Ubuntu 15.04. Prvi puta će službeno biti predstavljen na novom Dell Edge Gateway 5000.
